The weight of a diamond is measured in carats. One carat is then divided into 100 points. It is also very important to know that the value of two diamonds of the same weight can vary greatly depending on the color, clarity and cut. The size of your diamond should not only be determined by budget, but also by your personal preferences, including the setting that you select.

Price and appearance are also not determined directly by Carat Weight. Price increases almost exponentially with size, and stones can appear larger, smaller or more brilliant, depending on cut,  color, setting and any number of variables.
